Thrilledy (thriller + comedy)

A “thrilledy” (thriller + comedy) is a play or film that’s part thriller, part comedy. “Retiring to my couch to watch a thrilledy (thriller/comedy) called ‘Shallow Grave’” was cited in print in 2005. The 2015 television series Scream Queens helped popularize the “thrilledy” genre.

Well I opened an account and now I am “officially saving”! I then had a grilled cheese sandwich and a rootbeer, and called it a day, retiring to my couch to watch a thrilledy (thriller/comedy) called “Shallow Grave”....and it was ‘interesting’!

My break at home has allowed me to catch up on a few recent movies, courtesy of Rupert Murdoch. So, cinematicity:
Hollywood Homicide: Is it a thriller? Is it a comedy? No, it’s a thrilledy, and not a very good one.

I saw the movie last night. It was much better than i expected. It was still a B movie through and through, but it was purposefully funny and accidentally funny in many places. It’s the first thrilledy i’ve seen. I’d highly recommend catching it in a crowded theater.
Thrilledy Is Copyright Protected, So Don’t Even Think About It
So yeah, I’m playing a leading role in a thriller/comedy, or a thrilledy as I like to call it. Neil asked me if I’d done any acting while we were working together a few weeks ago, and then he started churning out script ideas. I don’t think I was originally supposed to be such a druggie, but I guess once he got to know me a little better….

1. Is it funny or scary?
We cannot stress this enough: It’s the perfect blend of both—it’s a thrilledy! (FYI, we’re totally getting a copyright on that new TV term.)

Set in the 1970s, “Feathers and Teeth” playwright Charise Castro Smith integrates fear with comedy, family turmoil and psychological drama. She brilliantly refers to her work as a “thrilledy,” which is a portmanteau of “thriller” and “comedy.”
