New Year’s Adam (December 30, the day before New Year’s Eve)

New Year’s Day is January 1st. New Year’s Eve is December 31th. Some people think that December 30th should be called “New Year’s Adam” because Adam came before Eve.

“New Year’s Adam” was entered in the Urban Dictionary on December 29, 2007.

“Christmas Adam” (December 23, the day before Christmas Eve) is a similar term.

Urban Dictionary
New Year’s Adam
The day before New Year’s Eve. Since Adam was created before Eve, and the need to be equitable in the new year’s season, New Year’s Adam creates further anticipation of New Years Day.
When is your family coming to our place?
On New Year’s Adam and leaving January 5th.
New Year’s Adam is the last chance to prepare for the New Year’s Eve party.

Tomorrow (December 30th) will be considered New Year’s Adam. Because Adam was created before Eve, and the same also went for Christmas Adam.

Taco y Vino will host a “New Year’s Adam Tasting Menu Takeover” on Dec. 30 (the day before New Year’s Eve, because Adam preceded Eve, right?). Chef Lance McWhorter of ETX Provisions and Graham Shockley of Oak Cliff restaurant Nova will serve an eight-course meal paired with sparkling wines. The menu is subject to change, but we’re intrigued by such entries as “Serpent’s Apple” with toasted hazelnut and French radish over Profound Microfarms greens. For the full menu, go to the Facebook Events page. $140 per person; email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for reservations. 213 W. 8th St., Dallas, 469-372-0022, @TacoyVinoDallas on Facebook
