“Like Grand Central Station” (congested with people)
New York City's Grand Central Terminal (often called "Grand Central Station") is very congested during rush hour. Something that is "like Grand Central station" is very busy.

The expression "like Grand Central Station" might be applied to a kitchen, where people frequently go in and out. "Hotel corridors are like Grand Central Station in the rush hour" was printed in the New York (NY) Times on March 2, 1934.

Wikipedia: Grand Central Terminal
Grand Central Terminal (GCT; also referred to as Grand Central Station or simply as Grand Central) is a commuter rail terminal located at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Grand Central is the southern terminus of the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem, Hudson and New Haven Lines, serving the northern parts of the New York metropolitan area. It also contains a connection to the New York City Subway at Grand Central–42nd Street. The terminal is the third-busiest train station in North America, after New York Penn Station and Toronto Union Station.

Just had a moment where I was weaving my way through a crowd and thought “it’s like Grand Central in here!” and I was actually in Grand Central.
