“Everyone has a tequila story”

“Everyone has a tequila story” is a saying that has been printed on many images. That is, people do unusual things after getting drunk on tequila.

“Everyone has a tequila story” was printed in the Star-News (Wilmington, NC) on April 28, 2005. “Why is it everyone has a tequila story?” was posted on X/Twitter by Jim B on November 8, 2007. “There are two things most people I meet have in common. They all have a secret stash of condiment packs (...) and everyone has a tequila story” was printed in The Province (Vancouver, BC) on July 31, 2008. “Everyone has a tequila story. What’s yours?” was posted on X/Twitter by Shelbow + Gee_Allard on April 30, 2009.

“Everyone has a Tequila story”—with a capital “T”—is often printed on images.

28 April 2005, Star-News (Wilmington, NC), “ALCOHOL 101; What’s the difference between bourbon and whiskey? Which liquor causes the worst hangover? Can one drink tequila without facing devastating consequences? Read on and find out” by William Mellon, pg. 18:
Everyone has a tequila story. The moral of most of them revolves around the phrase “one too many.” As with all liquors, drinking responsibly is the key.

31 July 2008, The Province (Vancouver, BC), “Mexican tapas on tap here” by Mark Laba, pg. C20:
There are two things most people I meet have in common. They all have a secret stash of condiment packs that they’ve scoured from fast-food establishments—enough, say, to keep every citizen of a small Eastern European nation rolling in ketchup, mustard and vinegar for at least a year—and everyone has a tequila story.
