“God, grant me the serenity to accept the terms and conditions I do not read”

Many people don’t read the small print of terms and conditions, simply accepting them and hoping for the best. A version of the Serenity Prayer was on Twitter by Shari VanderWerf on June 24, 2014:

“God grant me the serenity to accept the terms and conditions I will not read.”

The jocular one-liner received many retweets in October 2014. “God, grant me the serenity to accept the terms and conditions I do not read”—with “will” changed to “do”—was posted on Twitter by mark on November 7, 2019.

Wikipedia: Serenity Prayer
The Serenity Prayer is the common name for a prayer authored by the American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr (1892–1971). It has been adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous and other twelve-step programs. The best-known form is:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
