“New York State of Mind” (1975)
"New York State of Mind" (1975) was written and performed by Billy Joel. It appears on his album Turnstiles.

Hillary Clinton used this song during her 2000 New York Senate run. Arguably, it's about New York State and not just New York City, but it remains one of the most popular of modern New York songs.

Copyright restrictions prevent reproducing the full lyrics here, but they do appear on other web sites.
