“Bought huge supply of coffee filters because they can be used as emergency toilet paper or home made face masks” was posted on Twitter by Debi Orchard on March 15, 2020. “Coffee filters can be used as toilet paper, but it does change the taste of the coffee” was posted on Facebook by Chuck Johnson on March 16, 2020.
   
This potential use of coffee filters had been known before. “RT @Lara_Miller Tip: Coffee filters can be used as toilet paper in a pinch” was posted on Twitter by Big Daddy on February 22, 2010. “In other news, it turns out coffee filters can be used as toilet paper if need be” was posted on Twitter by Stevo on October 8, 2011.
