“Sales/Profits are going through the roof” is an expression meaning that a business is generating a lot of money. One pun on “sales”/“sails” is:
“I started a business building yachts in my attic. Sails are going through the roof!”
The joke has been cited on Twitter since at least June 2, 2010.
Another “through the roof” joke is: “I opened a company selling land mines that look like prayer mats. Prophets are going through the roof.”
