Brutus Salad

The Caesar salad is so popular that some chefs make a “Brutus salad” (after Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger, who participated in the assassination of Julius Caesar). However, it appears that the “Brutus salad” recipes differ greatly and there is no standard recipe. “Brutus Salad” has been cited in print since at least 1986, when it was served by a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Roman emperor Julius Caesar, however, has nothing to do with the Caesar Salad. The salad was named after Caesar Cardini (1896-1956), who first served it in Tijuana, Mexico in the 1920s.
“Any salad can be a Caesar salad if you stab it enough” is a somewhat related one-liner.
Wikipedia: Caesar salad
A Caesar salad is a salad of romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper.

There is nothing wrong with caesar salads – they’re just a bit too familiar, and no one does them at home as they can’t be bothered to make the dressing. Enter Brutus – with all the flavour his old boss had before him, but healthier.

Just about everything on Komodo’s “Munchies” menu would work to cure those pesky hangovers, but the Brutus “salad” takes greasy cravings to new heights. Crispy tater tots are smothered in melted cheddar, steak, and bacon and topped with sour cream, pico, and a jalapeño aioli for Caesar salad’s ultimate counterpart.
