“Your city spent millions on cameras, not potholes” is a saying that has been printed on several images. Many cities spent money on Flock cameras to read license plates (and surveil the population), rather than to fix the roads.
     
“Your city spent millions on cameras, not potholes” was posted on Facebook by “Wake up” on June 18, 2026, and this received over 1,300 likes. “It’s pretty funny how cities can’t fix the endless potholes and cracks in the roads but have the money to put surveilance camera’s everywhere” was posted on X/Twitter by Calvin on July 22, 2026, and this received over 93,000 likes.
