‘When you see snow ... go slow’: OPP response to slew of accidents

London police responded to eight collisions during the Boxing Day snowstorm.

According to OPP Sgt. David Rektor, it’s the same old story: Drivers can’t control the weather, just how they react to it.
 
“Motorists continued to drive along at 100-110 km/h during the storm when they should have been doing 60-70 km/h on the highway,” he said. “There is no magic to winter driving. When you see snow … go slow! That’s it!”

SOUTH PORCUPINE – It would appear that winter has made a return to parts of Ontario with the overnight storm that has left in some places wet and slushy roads, while in other parts of the province, there are snow packed roads and treacherous driving conditions that continue to challenge drivers.
 
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding motorists that the message when it comes to winter driving is simple, “See snow, Go slow”.
