“When your kids are learning how to drive, don’t stand in their way”

“Don’t stand in their way” usually means don’t oppose, but a joke takes this literally.
 
“Our friend, E. J. Canada, over in Luther, says that if your wife wants to learn to drive, don’t stand in her way” was printed in the Edmond (OK) Enterprise on March 13, 1951. “IF YOUR KIDS WANT TO LEARN TO DRIVE, DON’T STAND IN THEIR WAY!” (shown on a comic) was printed in the El Paso (TX) Herald-Post on November 6, 1982. “WHEN YOUR KIDS ARE LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE DON’T STAND IN THEIR WAY” (shown on a sign) was posted on Facebook by Vince the Sign Guy on December 8, 2024.
