Every July, the Summer Play Festival (SPF) showcases emerging writers all under the roof of the [ Theatre Row Complex ] on 42nd Street. The result is one exciting event with some cool performances.

Searching For Fresh Talent

Prior to every SPF, the emerging writers and their work are selected for SPF by Broadway luminaries from a pool of over 1000 applications submitted during the previous Fall. Under the guidance of producer and founder Arielle Tepper (Spamalot, Pillowman, A Raisin in the Sun, De la Guarda), these emerging writers from all over the US and UK have their plays produced by professionals from all over the theatre community.
