“If it’s not Boeing, I’m not going”

Boeing is an aircraft manufacturing company with corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. “If It’s Not Boeing, I’m Not Going” is a slogan that Boeing itself has promoted (with the slogan printed on gift items).

“If it’s not Boeing, I’m not going” has been cited in print since at least 1995. A Twitter message on December 21, 2013 stated, “That’s actually a very old saying - from the 1970’s or before.”

Putting the A-320 vs the 737 is no match.  My complete confidence lies in the 737.  The A-300, A-310, A-319, A-320, A-321, A330, and A-340, are no match for the Boeing legends.  777/767/757 are totally better than 330/340.  Even 727 is better.
PS. Boeing planes look better, too.

Even though the slogan “If it’s not Boeing, I’m not going” wears a little thin through some childish over-use in these forums, I have to admit to liking it for its snappy to-the-point message.
Does anyone know when it was first used, who coined it & against what competitor it was first aimed?
