“I used to work in a fire hydrant factory. You couldn’t park anywhere near the place”

“I used to work in a fire hydrant factory. You couldn’t park anywhere near the place” is a popular parking joke from American stand-up comedian Steven Wright. Wright said on his debut comedy album I Have a Pony (recorded in 1985):

“I used to work for the factory where they make hydrants, but you couldn’t park anywhere near them.”
