“I asked the bellhop to handle my bag. He felt up my wife!”

New York-based comedian Rodney Dangerfield (1921-2004) is frequently credited for this joke:

“One time I went to a hotel. I asked the bellhop to handle my bag. He felt up my wife!”

The popular Dangerfield joke has been cited in print since at least 1992, when it was on the newsgroup rec.humor.
