“Guns don’t kill people. Drivers with cellphones do”

“Guns don’t kill people—people kill people” is a popular saying from at least 1959. “Guns don’t kill people. Drivers on/with cellphones do” is a variation on the saying that has been printed on many images.
 
“Guns don’t kill people, drivers using cellphones do” was a bumper sticker saying printed in the Dayton (OH) Daily News on December 18, 2004. “Guns don’t kill people, drivers with cell phones do” was posted on the newsgroup rec.music.gdead on January 2, 2005. “‘Guns Don’t Kill People. Drivers With Cellphones Do.’—Bumper sticker spotted in Chicago, though expressing a sentiment popular in Edmonton” was printed in the Edmonton (Alberta) Journal on March 26, 2006.
   
“My bumper sticker says, ‘Guns don’t kill people, drivers on cell phones do’” was printed in the Dayton (OH) Daily News on May 22, 2005.
