“Drink responsibly. Use a coaster” is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images. “Drink responsibly” usually means to watch one’s alcohol intake.

“Drink responsibly. Use a fucking coaster” was posted on X/Twitter by Tater Tales & Other Shit🍁🐾 on April 19, 2021. “DRINK RESPONSIBLY. Use a fucking coaster” (shown on an image) was posted on Facebook by Clinton M James on August 15, 2024.

“Coaster?? That’s for people who put their coffee down” is another coaster saying.

A coaster, drink coaster, beverage coaster, or beermat is an object used to rest drinks upon. Coasters protect the surface of a table, or any other surface where a user might place a cup, from condensation created by cold drinks. A coaster on top of a beverage can also be used to show that a drink is not finished or to prevent contamination (usually from insects). Coasters can also stop hot drinks from burning the table surface.
