“Avoid parking tickets by leaving your wipers on high”

Parking tickets are usually—but not always—placed under windshield wipers. “Avoid parking tickets by leaving your wipers on high” is a jocular parking saying that has been printed on several images.

“One wat to avoid a parking ticket while illegally parked is to set your wipers on high!” was posted on the newsgroup rec.autos.driving on March 17, 1999. “Woody Paige - Avoid parking tickets by leaving your wipers on high. Lol” was posted on Twitter on December 13, 2010. American sports columnist Woody Paige helped popularize the saying.
