“12 Shocking Things I Learned by Working as a Butler at the Plaza Hotel” by Brandon Presser, published in Time magazine on August 16, 2017, stated how Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel treats some of its guests:
 
“Middle Eastern VIPs get what is called an ‘Arabic Amenity’—a tray of dates, dried fruit, and nuts; they tend to prefer these to chocolates, cakes, or other sweet desserts.”
 
The Mandarin Oriental (Prague, Czech Republic) and Six Senses Zighy Bay (Oman) also offer “Arabic amenities.”
