“Zucchini” sounds to many English speakers more like a pasta than a vegetable. The “-ini” ending sound on pastas include bucatini, capellini, fettuccine, linguine and tortellini. Zucchini is a popular ingredient in many pasta dishes, however.

Actually it’s used to make a completely veggie version of pasta - really delicious too.
