“Pringles got into my carpet. It’s beginning to look a lot like crisp mush”

“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” (1951) is a Christmas standard song by Meredith Wilson. If Pringles potato chips (“crisps” in the UK) get into your carpet, it can begin to look a lot like crisp mush.

“I’ve just accidentally poured cola into a bag of Salt n Shake.  It’s beginning to look a lot like crisp mush” was posted on Twitter by Heather Hill on December 12, 2011. “I really must pick up those Ready Salted I trod into the carpet earlier. “What are Santa’s favorite chips?”/“Crisp Pringles” and “What do you get if you deep fry Santa Claus?”/“Crisp Cringle” are related jokes. “It’s beginning to cost a lot like Christmas” and “It’s beginning to look a lot like I need another cup of coffee” are other variations on the Christmas song.
