“You can’t spell subtext without buttsex”
An anagram of “subtext” is “buttsex.” “You can’t spell subtext without buttsex” is a saying that has been printed on several images.
“Do you seriusly mean to tell me that the fact that ‘subtext’ is an anagram for ‘butt sex’ is just an accident?” was posted on the newsgroup bit.listserv.cinema-l on August 21, 1992. “happy to know buttsex is anagram for subtext, thanks boingboing! replaces computerised/pseudometric as fave anagram” was posted on Twitter by jessamyn on January 28, 2008.
“You can’t spell subtext without buttsex” was posted on Twitter by Bumblebee Zero on March 22, 2009. “What I just learned from Robert Downey Jr and tumblr: you can’t spell ‘subtext’ without ‘buttsex.’ Lol!!!” was posted on Twitter by 𝖉𝖆𝖎𝖘𝖞𝖇𝖆𝖓𝖉𝖎𝖙 on October 2, 2011. American actor Robert Downey Jr. popularized the saying, but did not coin it.
Wikipedia: Subtext
Subtext is any content of a creative work which is not announced explicitly by the characters or author, but is implicit or becomes something understood by the observer of the work as the production unfolds. Subtext has been used historically to imply controversial subjects without drawing the attention, or wrath, of censors. This has been especially true in comedy, but it is also common in science fiction, where it can be easier and safer to make social critiques if it is set in a time other than the (author’s) present.

The “crap” refered to is, I think, an attitude behind certain posting which has the subtext “We’re all good people here so obviously we’re all going to vote for slick willie. Anyone who isn’t is either stupid or evil anyway”. Doesn’t it disturb you that, given Hilarys’ fine credential as a man hater, Chelsea, Slick Willies’ one child, is almost surely a turkey baster baby? Do you seriusly mean to tell me that the fact that “subtext” is an anagram for “butt sex” is just an accident? Think about it.

Sex, Drama and Comedy Collide in Mating in Captivity
Monday, 11 July 2016, 12:29 pm
Monday 11 July, 2016 - Balling. Boffing. Bushwhacking. A hot beef injection. Kissing fish. Getting laid. Call it whatever you like, but its all sex. And there’s so much to say about sex. Last Tapes Theatre Company presents the debut season of Mating in Captivity by Oliver Page, as part of the 2016 First Steps season. It’s whip smart, it’s funny, it’s about sexual subtext and you can’t spell ‘Subtext’ without ‘Butt-Sex’.
