Wrongnado (wrong + tornado)
Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, on September 17, 2013, showed how the major cable news networks poorly reported any accurate information during a mass shooting major news event. Stewart’s segment was called “Wrongnade” (wrong + tornado), a borrowing from the 2013 disaster film Sharknado.
“WRONGNADO” had been cited before on Twitter on November 22, 2011. “Ha! Jon Stewart coins (or popularizes) ‘wrongnado’ as term for crap cable news spews at times of major tragedy like a mass shooting” was one immediate Twitter response on September 17, 2013.

Jon Stewart picked apart what he described as the “breathless wrongness” of CNN’s coverage of Monday’s Washington Navy Yard shooting on The Daily Show Tuesday night, as the centerpiece of his analysis of cable news’ latest “Force-5 wrongnado.”
“All of yesterday’s confusion in the reporting — it’s not a mistake,” Stewart surmised, pointing out that the one thing the network should know how to cover are incidents like the shooting, particularly following its lack of good judgment covering the April 2013 bombing at the Boston Marathon.
