“Why are restaurant servers the luckiest profession?”/“Good things come to those who wait.”

“All/Good things come to those who wait” is a proverb that dates to the 1500s. The proverb wasn’t about restaurant waiters, but there are jokes.

“Those who say ‘good things come to those who wait,’ have never had a slow waitress in a restaurant that serves lousy food” was posted on Twitter  by Frank Espinoza on August 26, 2009. “They say good things come to those who wait, but I’ve been working in a restaurant for three years now and still nothing” was posted on Twitter by Sickipedia_Feed on September 17, 2011. “Why are restaurant servers the luckiest profession? Because good things come to those who wait” was posted on Reddit—Dad Jokes on October 24, 2018.
