Whiney Orange (Whiny Orange)

“Whiney Orange” (or “Whiny Orange”) is an unflattering nickname for the University of Texas Longhorns, whose team colors are burnt orange. Longhorn haters claim that the UT fans whine when their athletic team is not #1 in the college rankings. The nickname was popularized in 2003 or 2004.

How can you be so sure they wouldnt beat Michigan, unless you let them PLAY Michigan. Exporter, you of all people should know that things should be decided on the field! But I guess you just have to side the rest of the whiny orange…

Cal Bears got screwed plain and simply, they win a game on the road and lose there spot in the BcS just because the whiney orange horns cried that they were not getting any Love.

Couldn’t help myself.

Had to commit an illegal act in Texas, our Texas.

It might shock some of you to learn that, contrary to state law, a wager can be made in this state on an athletic contest.

So when I see that Bob Stoops is being given a 13 1/2-point head start on Mack Brown, what the heck was I supposed to do?

The next call was to the friendly, neighborhood bookmaker.

I’m taking Zero U., plus the 13 1/2, against the Whiny Orange.

OU will be right back in the national championship hunt in 2006, when the Whiny Orange (Austin branch) lose half their defense and their O Line.

I absolutely loathe the Whiny Orange so that may affect my thoughts on this but I really think they are the most over-rated team in the country.

UT’s lack of negotiation. DeLoss Dodds wants home and home. Its that simple. He wants to make his own revenues. He’s a great AD, but he’s going to kill that legacy in the minds of a lot of us “Whiney Orange”

Plug from the president
Not to name-drop, but the president of the United States of America gave me a mention Tuesday.

Well, sorta.

In honoring the Whiny Orange’s bogus national championship (bogus, as always, until college football has a real playoff system), George W. welcomed the UT heroes to the White House.

Dallas/Fort Worth has a sports writer (Randy Galloway) that refers to the Longhorns as “the whiney orange” since they could not deal with failure well (until this last January….but “Superman” is now playing for the Tennessee Titans). He is old and can’t see that well, so he looks at the football helmets at the team from Norman, Oklahoma and call them “Zero U”.

“Those people” are known across the nation as “The Whiney-orange”, among many other drug related nicknames…
