“Where Weird Meets Western” (Rodeo Austin slogan)

“Keep Austin Weird” has been a popular slogan of the city of Austin (TX) in the 2000s. Rodeo Austin has used the slogan “Where Weird Meets Western” since at least March 2010.

Rodeo Austin
Our History
Our rich history of preserving western heritage began in 1938. Over the years, The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo has grown from a Show featuring 16 animals into one of Austin’s premier events, featuring ProRodeo events, daily Concerts, Livestock Show and more. In addition, our Scholarship Program created in 1983 has impacted the lives of hundreds of Texas youth, donating millions of dollars to their education.

rodeo!
I took Rilyn on a mommy/daughter night to the Austin rodeo Friday evening!  We went to watch her friend (and our neighbor) do mutton bustin!  We were very excited because she won first place!  (In case you’re not from Texas, mutton bustin is riding a sheep for as long as you can!)  Enjoy the pics “where weird meets western!”
