“When I die, I want the people I did group projects with to lower me into my grave” (joke)
“When I die, I want (X) to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time” is a popular meme on many images. That ‘X” is often a sports player or sports team. “I want Roy Williams to be a pallbearer at my funeral. That way he can let me down one last time” was cited on Twitter on April 1, 2008. “When I die I want the (Dallas—ed.) cowboys to be my palbearers cause they can let me down one last time!!!!!!!!!” was cited on Twitter on October 11, 2009. A dying Cleveland Browns fan actually made this request in 2013.
“When I die, I would like the people I did group projects with to lower me into my grave so they can let me down one last time” went viral on Twitter on August 26, 2014. This line also has been printed on many images.

The old go-to jokes like “When I die, I want the Vikings to be my pall bearers so they can let me down one last time” will be appreciated, but probably avoided. Be original.

Northeastern Ohio cemeteries are filled with people who gasped their last breath without witnessing one of their sports teams win anything. There was the Ohioan who famously included a line in his obituary about wanting a Cleveland Brown to serve as pallbearer so “they can let me down one more time.”
