Wikipedia: Suspended chord
A suspended chord (sus chord) is a musical chord in which the (major or minor) third is omitted, replaced usually with either a perfect fourth or a major second, although the fourth is far more common. The lack of a minor or a major third in the chord creates an open sound, while the dissonance between the fourth and fifth or second and root creates tension.

Saw that on a license plate yesterday, and my first thought was that the driver was a guitarist before I got the “message”.

Urban Dictionary
G sus
A major G triad in which, generally, the third of the chord is replaced by the upper neighbor or fourth in the scale. A G sus chord consists of a Root (G), a fourth (C), and fifth (D).
A G sus chord gives a feeling of anticipation, and a feeling of resolution is achieved when the fourth of the chord is resolved back to the major third.
The progression is Am, C and G sus
