“What do you get when you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?”
A popular joke told over Halloween and Thanksgiving is:
Q: What do you get when you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
A: Pumpkin pi.
The joke has been cited in print since at least 1998.
“What do you get when you take green cheese and divide its circumference by its diameter?”/“Moon pi” is another “pi(e)” joke.
Wikipedia: Pi
The number π is a mathematical constant, the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, commonly approximated as 3.14159. It has been represented by the Greek letter “π” since the mid-18th century, though it is also sometimes spelled out as “pi” (/paɪ/).
