“Well, butter my buns and call me a biscuit”

“Well, butter my buns and call me a biscuit” (or, “Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit”) is a mock Southern expression for surprise. There are many jocular expressions that are similar in structure, such as, “Well, slap my ass and call me Sally!”

The phrase is cited in print from at least 1999.
