Wikipedia: Central Intelligence Agency
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is a civilian intelligence agency of the United States government. It is an executive agency and reports directly to the Director of National Intelligence, responsible for providing national security intelligence assessment to senior United States policymakers through means of non hostile psychological, cyber, and social warfare using none military commissioned civilians to carry out these intel gathering operations. The CIA also engages in covert activities at the request of the President of the United States.. When such field operations are organized, the U.S military or other warfare tacticians often carry these field operations out on behave of the agency, as few field units actually exist in the agency. Divisions, such as SAD, exist only to carry out emergancy field operations that require immediate suppression or dismantlement of a threat or weapon. Often, civilian intelligence agencies, such as the CIA, are used for intelligence gathering instead of the U.S military to prevent declaration of war.
