Veterans Abandoned (Department of Veterans Affairs or VA nickname)

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government-run military veteran benefit system. The derogatory VA nickname of “Veterans Abandoned” has been used by those who believe that the department doesn’t do its job. “Veterans Abandoned” has been cited in print since at least January 1981 and March 2007.

My dear friend and neighbor, Steven Boyd.

Thinking about him today as he is hospitalized, his 102nd hospitilization over the last 10 years or so. This man served his nation proudly as an Army Ranger, sniper and JumpMaster.
