Vax Bouncer or Vaccine Bouncer or Vaxx Bouncer
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic resulted in some mandates, such as vaccination requirements to enter restaurants and indoor entertainments. Some of these establishments hired a “vaccine bouncer” (also spelled “vax bouncer” or “vaxx bouncer”) to check IDs, and to “bounce” those without IDs from the place. The term is somewhat confusing, as a “vaccine bouncer” does not bounce vaccines.

So we get vaccine bouncers on every shop door? Unless it’s photo ID, how will they know it’s mine? What if I just need bread, but left it at home? What happens if I lose it, but need to feed a family? Wouldn’t it be easier just to insert a microchip in the right hand or forehead?

What do you mean “can’t actually do the policy?”
Can’t put vax bouncers at the door? Yeah but the nightclub can. Unenforceable policy is still policy and still has an effect.
The city could bury “voluntary” in very tiny letters and still get this pro-vaccine boost

Bar and Restaurant Workers Become ‘Vaccine Bouncers’ Amid New Mandates
BY STACEY LASTOE
On August 17, New York City introduced a policy that requires proof of vaccination for those who want to drink or dine at indoor bars and restaurants. New Orleans has a similar mandate in place and San Francisco will introduce one on August 20. Last week, Los Angeles City Council members voted in favor of vaccine requirements at indoor bars and restaurants, though details are still being determined.
How are these policies enforced?
While some venues employ dedicated security guards, others have asked existing employees to work the door as “vaccine bouncers.” It’s a difficult task amid staff shortages and the politicization of vaccines, and one that workers say requires full support of managers and owners.

Receptionist? Maitre d’? Now You’re Also a Vaxx Bouncer Five workers talk about enforcing the new vaccine mandate.
By Caroline Spivack
The city’s restaurant hosts, gym receptionists, baristas, and bartenders got a second job last week: They’re all vaccine bouncers now too. With an inoculation mandate in effect for most places that serve food or drink or have entertainment, these employees now have the added responsibility of verifying proof of vaccination.

New ‘Vax Bouncer’ Ordinance May See Scant Enforcement, City Councilmember Says

What It’s Like to Be a Restaurant’s ‘Vaccine Bouncer’
Dining room hosts have been tasked with carrying out NYC’s vaccine mandate, which recently expanded to include children ages 5 to 11. Here’s what the job is really like.
by Audrey Alunan Dec 14, 2021, 3:49pm EST
At the candlelit restaurant where I’ve worked for the past two years, on a lively corner in Brooklyn’s Park Slope, funk music and the rhythm of cocktail shakers in motion set the pace of service. Servers and food runners walk up and down the dining room runway; business as usual, except all workers wear masks now.
However, at the front door, I’m the barrier of entry. Starting in August, I began checking ID and proof of vaccination for everyone walking in, as mandated by the city. After eight years of hosting, I now serve a dual purpose with another job title as the restaurant’s designated vaccination bouncer. It’s a robotic task where I’m constantly reminding customers of basic protocol — and as of December 14, I’ll be reminding little kids to show me their passes for the green light to enter the restaurant.
