Top of Texas (Pampa slogan)
The city of Pampa is the second-largest in the Texas Panhandle, located at the top of Texas. In 1937, Pampa hosted a “Top of Texas Fiesta” (or “Top o’ Texas Fiesta”). Pampa currently hosts the Top o’ Texas Rodeo each August.
In 1950, the Pampa Chamber of Commerce published a pamphlet titled: “Hang Your Hat on the Top o’ Texas. Pampa, the Friendly City, Where Wheat Grows and Oil Flows.” No part of the slogan was trademarked, but the slogan is still used today.
