“The waiter said, ‘Your table will be ready shortly’” (at the IKEA restaurant)

When a waiter says, “Your table will be ready shortly,” this does not mean that the restaurant is actually constructing a table, but there are jokes.

“The waiter said, ‘Your table will be ready shortly.‘ This is the last time I’ll be coming to Ikea’s restaurant” was posted on Twitter by Bob Kostic on April 12, 2012. The joke probably originated on the Sickipedia website.
