The Planet (Brooklyn)
The borough of Brooklyn has been called “The Planet” in hip-hop slang since the 1990s. It’s sometimes said that Brooklyn is the most diverse borough, although Queens could also be called “The Planet” is the nickname is based on diversity alone.
Brooklyn - TristateRealEstateWiki
Variously called the “City of Trees”, “City of Homes” or the “City of Churches” in the 19th century, Brooklyn is now often styled the “Borough of Homes and Churches” or even sometimes called “The Planet” - given its large diversity, population, and size. (From wikipedia.com )
