“The book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ taught me that I can binge eat and take a two-week nap”

The children’s picture book The Very Hungry Caterpillar (1969) is not a book of advice. People can’t eat all they want, go to sleep and then wake up more beautiful than ever (in the caterpillar’s case, as a butterfly).

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children’s picture book designed, illustrated, and written by Eric Carle, first published by the World Publishing Company in 1969, later published by Penguin Putnam. It has been described as “one of the greatest childhood classics of all time.” It was voted the number two children’s picture book in a 2012 survey of School Library Journal readers.

That “Hungry Caterpillar” story was very misleading tbh. So what, eat like a pig for a week, get fat, go sleep: then wake up beautiful? No

I think the moral of a very hungry caterpillar is that if you eat a lot and sleep for two weeks you will wake up beautiful
