The Constitution of the United States was written in the 1780s. Is it an outdated document, or do its principles still apply today?

Several people commented that Webbon was referring to the 1798 letter by John Adams (1735-1826) where he wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” The implication is that Americans are no longer a moral and religious people.

He’s invoking Adams who wrote that the constitution was made for a moral and religious people, which we seem to have lost our way about, hence why the constitution was written for a country that no longer exists.
