The Big Apple (Arcadia, MI restaurant, 1937-2020)

The Big Apple restaurant on 17080 Northwood Highway in Arcadia, Michigan,, was opened in 1937. The name was surely taken from the “Big Apple” dance, a national craze in 1937.

The Big Apple closed in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and because the owner’s wife became ill. The restaurant was demolished in November 2025.
