“Tea parties are for little girls with imaginary friends”
“Tea parties are for little girls with imaginary friends” is an anti-tea party political saying that has been printed on many gift items, such as bumper stickers, hats and T-shirts. The political “tea party” (“TEA” is sometimes said to stand for “Taxed Enough Already”) movement was popularized on April 15, 2009, on the annual “April 15th” date when most tax returns are due. “Tea parties are for little girls” was cited in print also on April 15, 2009.
“I want to put that next to a ‘tea parties are for little girls with imaginary friends’ sticker (I have to find one of those)” was cited in print on March 9, 2010.

Tea Parties Are For Little Girls
Posted by Kristian Bland on Mar 30, 2010
After enjoying a recent Facebook-powered mini-debate over the Tea Party movement, I decided to write up a short and jagged little rehash of stuff I’ve already said. It should come as no surprise to regular visitors to my little corner of the Internet that I loathe the Tea Party movement, but what is probably less obvious is the fact that I don’t actually hate the teabaggers themselves.

Protestors greet Ward and Palin rally attendees
Posted on May 21, 2010 by
Several people brought signs criticizing Sarah Palin and her endorsement of Republican 1st Congressional District candidate Vaughn Ward to the Qwest Arena in Boise before Palin’s speech Friday.
“I’m just not that happy with Sarah Palin choosing Vaughn Ward,” said Sarah Bendict of Kuna, who held a “Drill Baby Drill?” sign. “That’s the only reason anybody’s here, is to see Sarah Palin. If it was just Vaughn Ward speaking at Qwest Arena, there would be no one here. I think that it’s an attempt to save a struggling campaign.” Others held signs reading “lipstick to nowhere” and “tea parties are for little girls with imaginary friends.”

To the caller from Inwood who said that tea parties are for little girls with imaginary friends: Tell that to Paul Revere, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and all the other founding fathers and patriots.

But Kidder knew he had no chance once the conservatives in his party got a look at the bumper stickers on Brown’s car.
