T-triple-P (titles, power, pork and patronage)
“T-triple-P” is New York State government slang for “titles, power, pork and patronage.” The acronym was coined by Brooklyn Democratic State Senate Leader John Sampson on July 7, 2009.
“T-Triple-P: Titles, power, pork and patronage. It’s a chamber tautology that has endured beyond Sampson, who was convicted of (among other things) lying to the FBI” was printed in Politico on October 12, 2017.

Sampson denounced ‘T-Triple-P,’ promises active session
By Casey Seiler, senior news editor on July 7, 2009 at 1:23 PM
Senate Democratic Conference Leader John Sampson just held a solo press conference to announce that the Dems intend to hold a regular session after today’s 3 p.m. special session. Sampson insisted his conference would give Republicans a chance to file out before they take a quorum call — which, as Irene implied in a question to Sampson, would make one heck of a visual in a 2010 campaign ad.

Sampson said the ongoing Senate impasse demonstrated that the Republicans and Pedro Espada Jr. were ruled by the culture of “T-Triple-P,” which stands for title, power, pork and patronage.

ALBANY—The Senate coup has a new acronym!
In a press conference just now, Democratic State Senate Leader John Sampson said that Republicans “care more about what I call T, triple-P.”
That is, Titles, Power, Pork, and Patronage. It’s unclear whether Sampson was deliberately making a reference to The Music Man, but the song pretty much writes itself. (“We’ve got trouble, right here in the Capitol city, with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Pork…..”)
8 July 2009, The Journal News (White Plains, NY), “Senate leaders say they’re moving toward resolving differences” by Cara Matthews, pg. B1:
“We can no longer be held hostage,” Senate Democratic leader John Sampson, D-Brooklyn, said after the Republicans left the chamber and Democrats opened up their regular session. “We need to pass this legislation and prevent fiscal hysteria from going on from Buffalo to Brooklyn.”
At an earlier news conference, Sampson accused Republicans of caring only about “T triple P - titles, power, pork and patronage.”

In 2009, when the state Senate was engulfed by fighting and coups, Democratic leader John Sampson declared that the internecine conflict had nothing to do with ideology and everything to do with T-Triple-P: Titles, power, pork and patronage. It’s a chamber tautology that has endured beyond Sampson, who was convicted of (among other things) lying to the FBI.
