“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out”

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out” is frequently—and incorrectly—credited to American self-help author Robert Collier (1885-1950). Collier’s book The Magic Word stated that the poetic lines came from Florence Taylor. The full verses (cited in print since at least 1932) are:

Success is the sum of small efforts,
Repeated day in and day out,
With never a thought of frustration,
With never a moment of doubt.
Whatever your cherished ambition,
Begin now to make it come true,
Through efforts, repeated, untiring,
Plus faith in the thing that you do.
