Stumpkin (stout + pumpkin)
Heartland Brewery serves a "Stumpkin," or "stout" plus "pumpkin" ale. The only trademark for "stumpkin" appears to be for the name of a doll.

The one the police officers liked, Smiling Pumpkin Ale, made with honey roasted pumpkins, ginger, cloves and cinnamon, is a special favorite Bloostein reports that when that ale is served, it is far and away the most popular beer in the restaurants.
"We can sell 500 pints of it in one store in one day," Bloostein reports. In addition to being served by itself , customers also order it mixed with hard cider, as a Jack O'Lantern, or mixed with a spicy oatmeal stout, in the Stumpkin.

The Heartland Brewing Co. (35 Union Square W.; 212-645-3400), which has brought a taste for fresh beer back to NYC, serves classics like Red Rooster Ale and Harvest Wheat in its four brewpubs. Heartland is also known for its seasonal beers, like the spicy Smiling Pumpkin Ale, which, when combined with their hearty Farmer Jon's Oatmeal Stout, creates a tasty "Stumpkin." Who would have thought? Heartland beers are all brewed in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, under the watchful eye of head brewer Kelly Taylor.

Started with the Farmer John's Oatmeal Stout, as usual. Always a nice silky smooth roasty brew. Moved on to the IPA and wound down with a "Stumpkin" (a mix of the Stout and Pumpkin Ale).
A solid Heartland, albeit pricey pricey pricey and a good choice for din and drinx if you're in the neighborhood.
