"Run like you're chasing an ice cream truck"

“Run like you’re chasing a taco truck” (or “Run like you’re chasing an ice cream truck”) is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images. Ice cream trucks used to cruise neighborhoods for customers, and children would run after the trucks. The jocular running saying means that one should run fast.

“And no matter what, RUN LIKE YOU’RE CHASING AN ICE CREAM TRUCK!!” was posted on the newsgroup middlebury-running-group on April 30, 2011. “Run! Run! Run like you’re chasing after the ice cream truck!” was posted on very VERY busy mom on March 25, 2012.

“Run like you’re chasing the 🌮 truck” was posted on X/Twitter by ATHLETA on April 27, 2016. “run like you’re chasing the taco truck” was posted on X/Twitter by becky meyer on April 28, 2016. “I bought a t-shirt today. It says ‘Run like you’re chasing a taco truck’ on it” was posted on X/Twitter by tubular20 on September 7, 2020.
