Resimercial (residential-commercial)
“Resi-mercial” (or “resimercial”) has been used to describe anything that is part “residential” and part “commercial.” “‘Resi-mercial’ — carpet that merges the dense, low-pile durability of commercial products with the soft feel of residential carpet” was cited in a 2009 book. “Resi-mercial: built using materials 1 would find in a house, but used as a business” was cited on Twitter on April 8, 2013.
The term has been popular in real estate. “Here’s a term I’ve never heard until just now - a Realtors that are self-categorized as ‘resimercial’” was cited on Twitter on October 20, 2010. “Word of day: ‘Resi-mercial’ - Residential agents who may do a little commercial too” was cited on Twitter on March 2, 2011. A “Resimercial” trademark for “Commercial and residential real estate agency service” was filed in May 2010.
