Republitarian (Republican + libertarian)
“Republitarian” (Republican + libertarian) is cited in print since 1996, but was popularized by radio host Larry Elder since about 2003. Republitarians believe in limited government and fiscal conservatism.
There are some differences between Republitarians and Republicans, with the latter possibly advocating social conservatism and a strong military.
Wikipedia: Libertarian Republican
A libertarian Republican is a person who subscribes to libertarian philosophy while typically voting for and being involved with the United States Republican Party. Milton Friedman described his political views as “I am a libertarian with a small l and a Republican with a capital R”.
Sometimes the terms republitarian or liberty Republican are used as well. Libertarian Republicans’ views may also differ from Libertarian Party members.
Principles
Libertarian Republicans represent a political faction within the Republican Party. They are strong believers in the traditional Republican principle of economic libertarianism that was advocated by past leaders such as Senator Barry Goldwater and Congressman and 2008 Presidential candidate Ron Paul. Individuals who self-identify as Libertarian Republicans do not necessarily share the same political beliefs across the spectrum, though there do seem to be several issues that bind them together, including beliefs in fiscal conservatism, personal responsibility, and personal liberty.
The most common belief libertarian Republicans share is fiscal conservatism—specifically, advocating for lower taxes at every level of government, a reduction in the level of spending in the federal budget, easing the burden of federal regulations on business interests, the reform of the entitlement system, and ending or making significant cuts to the welfare state. Additionally, they oppose budget deficits and deficit spending and work to minimize it as much as possible. Libertarian Republicans tend to support more fiscal conservatism than their mainstream counterparts in the party, and are less willing to abandon these principles for political expediency.
Libertarian Republicans often differ from traditional Republicans in their emphasis on protection of civil liberties. It is distinct from the religious right wing of the Republican Party because it sees state-enforced conservative social policies as encroachments on personal privacy and individual liberties. Libertarian Republicans disagree with the activities of mainstream Republicans with regard to civil liberties since the September 11 attacks in 2001, opposing the Patriot Act, REAL ID, and President George W. Bush’s domestic intelligence program.
Organizations
The Republican Liberty Caucus was founded in 1991 at a meeting of a group of Florida members of the Libertarian Republican Organizing Committee attending a Young Republicans Convention. They included Philip Blumel, Tom Walls, Eric Rittberg, and Rex Curry and decided to develop a national Republican Liberty Caucus organization. The group represents the GOP’s libertarian wing.
Americans for Limited Government is another libertarian Republican organization.
Politicians and media personalities
Prominent libertarian Republicans include the Former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the United States Federal Reserve Alan Greenspan. actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, radio talk show hosts Neal Boortz and Larry Elder, humorist P.J. O’Rourke, former Playgirl Editor Michelle Zipp and television personalities Tucker Carlson and Dennis Miller.[citation needed] Political philosophers admired by libertarian Republicans include Thomas Jefferson, Friedrich Hayek, Adam Smith, John Locke, James Madison, Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman and John Stuart Mill.
Prominent elected libertarian or libertarian-leaning Republicans include Arizona Congressman Jeff Flake, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, Georgia Congressman Paul Broun, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr, former Massachusetts Governor William Weld, former Governor of New Mexico Gary E. Johnson, former Michigan State Representative member Leon Drolet, and the late Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater.
Urban Dictionary
Republitarian
A reformed Republican who saw the light and realizes that the Constitution means exactly what it says.
A Republitarian also knows however, that the Libertarian party as a whole isn’t strong enough. He tends to vote Republican, since he knows that a Libertarian has no chance of getting into office. He also works to reform the Republican Party, and will question the Party on what he believes is wrong.
Some of the key issues a Republitarian doesn’t stand with the Republican Party are:
Abortion
Drugs
Social Security/Welfare
Taxes(ocasionally)
Republitarians stand for freedom, pure and simple.

Concerned about the presence of Buffett on Schwarzenegger’s team, the Los Angeles talker notes that the investment guru once said he thought the tax code should be used to redistribute the wealth. Elder also worries about another Democrat advising Schwarzenegger: actor Rob Lowe.
“Here’s a guy [Lowe] who’s close to Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden,” the self-described “Republitarian” lamented. “These are not good signs.
