Religitics (religion + politics)
“Religitics” (religion + politics) is when religion and politics combine. The word “religitics” has one citation from 1988, but has been in steady (but infrequent) use since 2004. “Religitics”—religious views shaping political positions—is a useful word blend that might see a more popular usage.
“Relitics” (religion + politics) has been used much less frequently than “religitics.” An Urban Dictionary entry states that “religitics” is also a blend of “religious” and “lunatic,” but this definition has rarely been used.
“Poligion” (politics+ religion) has been cited in print since at least December 2001. “Politigion” (politics + religion) has seldom been used—usually only in combination with “religitics.”

Sex and Religi’tics In American Schools
Religion and politics are oft considered ill topics for friendly social gatherings and for good reason. In a country as politically polarized as the US, these might well be dangerous topics. Unless, of course, it is a gathering of like minded souls who all agree that something should be done about those soulless bastards that are not ‘like minded’.

Religitics in Vegas
I just got back from Vegas, I was talking politics with the bachelor, drinking tequila and coffee, eating a waffle and watching the sun rise through the smokey haze of the casino lobby. The couple next to us was sitting there with their kid looking at us like we were complete savages. We were discussing the correlation between American conservatism and belief in god.

It is dangerous, and generally unwise, to talk about politics and religion. The trouble is, here in Oklahoma, they’re the same thing.
