Random Act of Journalism
The term “random act of kindness” means to selflessly perform an act benefiting another person, without request and without expectation of a return of the kindness. “Random act of journalism” is cited in print since at least 2005, when it meant a blogger (not a news professional) who reports on a noteworthy event, beating the professionals to the story.
Conservatives have long held that the mainstream media (MSM) has a liberal bias. When CNN questioned Barack Obama’s relationship with the former terrorist Bill Ayers, conservative bloggers on October 7, 2008 called CNN’s investigative story a “random act of journalism.” Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh used the term “random act of journalism” several times in 2011, whenever the Solyndra and “Fast & Furious” news stories would receive MSM coverage.
Wikipedia; Random act of kindness
A random act of kindness is a selfless act performed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual person or people. The phrase may have been coined by Anne Herbert, who claims to have written “Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty” on a place mat at a Sausalito restaurant in 1982 or 1983. Either spontaneous or planned, random acts of kindness are encouraged by various communities.

Gillmor said many people fled the scene in the moments after the collapse Aug. 2. But others pulled out their cell phone cameras and ran toward the catastrophe to take pictures.
“That person did what I like to call a random act of journalism,” Gillmor said. “Professional journalists or not, all of us will have a chance to do these random acts at some point.”

Did you see that? Someone at the Washington Post actually bothered to not only verify the facts behind a statement, but had the wherewithal to declare a statement false.
A glimmer of hope, no?

CNN Commits Random Act of Journalism

Yes this really is a CNN report scrutinizing Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers and concluding that he has been dishonest. It’s got to tell you something when CNN won’t buy the “this is a guy who lives in my neighborhood” line any longer. Watch.
