“Put them in a big bowl and beat for three hours” (college football joke)

College football has a bowl playoff system. “How do you make (insert football team name) cookies?” a classic joke goes. “Put them in a big bowl and beat for three hours” is the answer. The following joke about the University of Michigan Wolverines was told in 1997:
 
Q. How do you make Wolverine cookies?
A. Put them in a big Bowl and beat for 3 hours!
 
“What’s the difference between (insert football team name) and a breakfast cereal? Cereal belongs in a bowl” is another football bowl joke.
